My Location (beta)
Google Maps for Mobile features My Location, a service that allows mobile users to retrieve their current location without the need for GPS. My Location approximates your current location on the map, usually within 1000 meters, by recognizing information broadcast from mobile towers near you. Google Maps for Mobile also uses built-in GPS, or can link to a Bluetooth GPS sensor to more accurately pinpoint a user''s location.

Map and satellite views
Google Maps provides both map and satellite views of an area. The user interface feels like Google Maps does on the desktop. Users can scroll in a direction to see more of the map, or zoom in and out using shortcut keys.

Driving directions
Google Maps makes it easy to get turn-by-turn driving directions. Thanks to the My Location feature, users do not even have to enter their starting point.

Transit directions
Check bus and subway schedules, determine what transfers you need to make, and plan adventures in more than 50 cities around the world. Transit functionality is currently available for BlackBerry and other Java-enabled phones. Support for additional phones is coming soon.

Business listings
Google''s local search engine allows you to search for businesses by name (e.g. "Starbucks"), or by type (e.g. "coffee"). View store hours and ratings, and then dial the business you''re interested in with a single click. Thanks to My Location, it''s easy to find nearby businesses without even having to enter your current location.

Traffic
Google Maps will turn highways green, yellow, or red, based on real-time traffic data.

The Future

We-Travel is developed as a platform, on which several location based services can be added.
This could be anything from city guides, tourist tours to speed camera's and online traffic information, or meeting friends. Imagination is the only limit !

As a first feature, We-Travel already allows you (optionally) to record your trips and submit them automatically or upon request to the We-Travel website, from where you can export them to Open Street Maps, Google Earth, ... etc. Note that you are only allowed to see your own traces and retention time of traces might be limited in the future.

Mobile World Weather

Web2Mobi World Weather, Weather midlet beta v.0.82.26 is a mobile client with features:
- Current weather and forecasts for all around the globe.
- Satellite images
- Multiple cities in a certain countries.
- In the USA and Canada you can use ZIP code as well.
- Database for locations you want to have forecasts


When you start the Weather application, you first create a database for locations which you want to have current weather and forecasts. To create a location, you first select the Country and continue to next step where you select the city, if there are cities to select, and temperature units. After selecting options you must save your location. There are not cities available for all the countries. If there are no cities to select, current weather and forecasts are shown for a capital of the selected country.

USA is an exception, there are no cities to select but you can use ZIP code instead of city.

After creating the location database, it is easy to retrieve current weather and forecasts by
highlighting the location and pressing the joystick of the phone. You can get satellite images from Weather data screen by selecting Options and Get satellite images.

System requirements
Basically all mobile phones with Java MIDP 2.0 and GPRS capability are valid. We have tested this client software with Nokia 2610 mobile phone and Nokia 6600 mobile phone.
In the network connections use accesspoint Internet. It is recommended to make some kind of data plan with your operator.

Weather 1.1.5

The Weather midlet is a Java application for mobile devices to check the weather conditions in different locations. Download the new measurement and forecast data any time using the Refresh menu item. There are different views in the Weather midlet and you can change the views with the Up/Down navigation buttons. In the bottom-left corner you’ll find the elapsed time from the last data source refresh. It’s measured not from the refresh button press on the phone but the refresh of the real computed/measured data on the server. The Autorefresh option makes it possible to refresh the meteorological data automatically in regular intervals.
